Rinki Murphy

Rinki Murphy is an endocrinologist with a special interest in monogenic forms of diabetes and severe insulin resistance. Since completing her PhD in genetics and epigenetics of diabetes at the University of Plymouth in 2007, she returned to work in Auckland at both Auckland and Counties Manukau District Health Boards, and is a senior lecturer in medicine at the University of Auckland. She established the national monogenic diabetes guidelines and research database (www.nzssd.org.nz), and conducts research in the two broad areas of genetics and physiology of diabetes and obesity.
